At work we have had the privilege of working with a few new employees from Nepal. I have learned so much from them and they are extremely nice and hilarious. For those of you who need to use
Google map to look up where Nepal is (like me) it is between China and India. Nepal is home to Mount Everest. (The highest mountain in the world) They mostly speak Nepali, but everyone that has moved here can speak at least four other languages. They are always happy and whistling or singing while working. This makes sense because most of them are originally from Bhutan which is the happiest place in Asia and the 8th happiest place in the world. Most of this information I am finding from Wikipedia so who knows how accurate it is. I do know that the Government is pretty hardcore there and on Wikipedia they noted that in 1999 the Government lifted it's ban on television and the internet. That's pretty amazing knowing how well they are living in our environment today.
I asked my new friend Bhatka what his favorite american restaurant was and believe it or not it wasn't McDonald's or Taco Bell, it was actually a teriyaki place....so I don't think that really counts :) He also asked me to go back to Nepal with him because I guess there are a ton of monkeys roaming around. (I Love monkeys)
I'm so happy that we live in the "melting pot of the world." You can learn so much everyday!
