Recently I attended TWO fantastic shows at the Can Can in Pike Place Market. They are incredibly amazing and talented. One newspaper article from The Stranger quoted it best when they wrote that 'The Castaways trick Seattle into watching Modern Dance." It is located in a very small basement room with a bar, a small stage, and about 20 tables. There are 3 different options when attending. You can buy the 3 course meal, cocktails, and tickets to the show which is about $100 or just buy the tickets for the show (VIP or regular) or just do standing room only. Even though the food is amazing, I would recommend doing tickets just for the show and drinking at least one of their amazing cocktails. (absinthe is an option) Now on to the dancers! They are all incredibly strong and talented. I asked for lessons and it would cost at least $50 an HOUR, now that shows just how good they are!! They make all of their props, poster designs, costumes, and set. Their music ranges from hip hop to techno and every song you listen to will make you want to immediately download and later try to recreate their dances!!! I strongly recommend anyone in Seattle to watch one of their shows. There is a different show every night and they change about every two weeks or so. Every show will be a different experience.
Now get outside and enjoy that sun and 85 degrees that we never get here!!!
