Pardon, where is the loo?

Today we got up early once again and walked down to the Divinity Square at the Bodleian Library to meet the rest of our group.  I found out that you are not allowed to walk on the grass at the University of Oxford or you will get fined. Luckily I didn't find out the hard way! We have a student in our program who studied at Oxford last year so she was our tour guide and explained where everything is and the history behind it. Plus the director of our program studied history in college so she was giving us a bunch of facts about all of the old buildings. PS She lives in a village where Johnny Depp, Tim Burton, and Helena Bonham Carter. She asked if any of us want to house sit for her. Um...YES PLEASE!!!

We then took a tour through the University of Oxford to Cherwell Boathouse. There are over 30 colleges in the U. of Oxford.  They each have their own dorms, library, and kitchen.  We are having a ball (dance) on Sunday night at the Vaults which was where someone was buried above us but I can't remember who...

Then we got into a boat and started our trip down the Cherwell River.

We had Pimms, Cheez its, hummus, bread, carrots, watermelon, and strawberries on our way to the pub.  Pimms is an English summer drink that is alcohol mixed with lemonade and fruits. It was good!

We then walked back to our campus and on the way stopped at a famous pub. The authors C.S. Lewis and  J.R. Tolkien used to visit this pub on a regular basis. So of course I needed to eat some 'chips' (also known as fries in the U.S.) and take some pictures here.

Tomorrow we are going on an open bus tour of Oxford!

Incredibly jealous of all this fun you are having! We just have nothing like that in the US. I am so glad you are having fun and meeting people!
