Grewcock's Sportive Lemur



I just read an article about this little guy.  Researchers went into a new forest in NW Madagascar and found 2 new species of lemurs and the Grewcock's Sportive lemur was one of them.  The latin name is Lepilemur grewcockorum.  The original name was 'grewcocki,' but that was an error so they changed it to grewcockorum (wikipedia).

Have I ever discussed the process of naming a species? If so, please disregard this repetitive information.  It takes a VERY long time to name a new species.  Some are named after the scientist that found them, the organization that sponsored the study, or the species' appearance.  It makes you wonder how this species of lemur was named...
