Christmas Eve in Grosseto

Christmas Eve dinner was at her grandma's house and started at 9 PM.  They eat really late in Italy. It is tradition to not eat meat on Christmas Eve so everything had fish instead. DELICIOUS!

Her Grandma and Aunt preparing the fish appetizers.

We brought Christmas crackers from England to Italy. This is a tradition in England when you pull it pops open and there is a joke, toy, and hat inside.

Daria and I with our Christmas cracker crowns.

First dish - Appetizers (salmon and lemon on bread and tuna)

OCTOPUS - it was pretty good and some other fish and olive that I can't remember...

Next dish - Spaghetti with fish sauce

Mussels - SO GOOD!

The parentals

Delicious spigola made with crystalized rock salt.

desserts - pantonnette

This ended around 1 AM :)

You fit right in with those Italian's with your complexion! Looks like a great way to spend a holiday.
