I'm in Oxford!

I have finally arrived in Oxford.

The window view from my new home in Oxford.

For those of you reading this blog because you wanted to see my wild adventures in Madagascar...unfortunately they are over with :( I am now back in England and will be writing my thesis for the next month. I will however be still traveling so feel free to keep reading!!

In case you hadn't heard. My flight was delayed out of Madagascar because the rebels attacked the military right next to the airport. So airfrance canceled all of their flights and waited almost 24 hours to notify their customers! It was very stressful. I had to get a hotel room and I finally found the last one in the area I was staying in. The next night on my way to the airport it was a bit scary. For some reason the flights out to France are always at 1 AM so that means we have to drive around 9-10PM through the capitol.  The military at any point can pull you over and arrest you. It doesn't matter if you have a passport. The only way you can be let free is if you give them money. I saw them pulling over cars on the other side of the street so I was thankful we were never pulled over. That drive was probably the most scared I had felt the whole trip. I kept praying and hoping that I could arrive in the airport safely!

From France to London I arrived with a few Olympic teams so that was kind of cool. I was also surrounded by the Tahiti Men's boating team. They were very good looking! In the airport there were guards everywhere with Ak-47s and news reporter interviewing all of the teams. It was a bit overwhelming for me.

SO I'm now back in Oxford and it is HOT!!! I have groceries and a hair cut and am, unfortunately, pretty sick. It could be because I'm not longer eating rice 3 times a day :) Anyways, I have a doctor's appointment on Friday so I hope to feel better after that!

I am very happy to be back. In 2 months I'll be in the states!!!!!!!!!!!
