I just arrived this morning around 3 AM from our trip to Apenheul in the Netherlands. I'm tired and now sick :( We had a great time though! We stopped in France and Belgium on the way and back and took the ferry from Dover, England to Calais, France. I have some amazing pictures that I'll put up later. Unfortunately we didn't get to really see Holland. We were at the primate sanctuary for most of the trip and we had dinner in a "mexican" restaurant in the city of Apeldoorn. The appetizer at the Mexican restaurant was bread with garlic and butter and all of the meals came with rice, kidney beans, and fries....It was good, but I still really miss real Mexican food. The food was way better in Holland compared to England.
We stayed in a youth hostel Friday and Saturday night which also had a bar where we spent each night dancing and doing 'party tricks.' It was a great way for us all to get to know each other, including our lecturers. A few people were sick on the trip and now I've caught it. It doesn't help that we got ~5 hours of sleep each night and that it was pretty cold there with no heaters working in our hostel. They also can't get my heater to work in my room in Oxford. Hopefully they get it fixed soon!!!! I have to get ready because I have class today! We'll see how many people can stay awake for it.
Now I need some tea and chicken noodle soup.
