SNOWED!

Last Weekend: IT SNOWED
Details: I spent the weekend watching Netflix under my electric blanket while it snowed. Thankfully I didn't have anywhere to be.

This Week:
BRRRRR

Willie in my class!

Details: This week went very fast! I had two tests and one paper. A KNEA meeting and I worked every day. First graders say the most hilarious things so I look forward to seeing their smiling faces. It has definitely been a learning curve. Sometimes I catch myself at home telling the TV "shhhh" when I think the volume is too loud. This weekend I'll be baking a cake for my lover's grandma YIKES! She's probably the best chef in MHK so I have to make it extra yummy.

Weekly Obsessions:
watching Maleficent
drinking earl grey black tea
making science experiments for 1st graders
missing beaches, warm weather, coconut drinks

Winter is here!

                                                Two Weekends Back: HALLOWEEN!
Kissy Visited!

Ring Tailed Lemur

CD4 T Cell
Details: Kristin and Mason came to the Little Apple for the weekend and it was really fun and very cold. We tailgated at the Bill, played board/phone games, laughed a LOT, and checked out the ville.

2 Weeks Back:
Details: It was my first week without any tests so I just relaxed and spent my time doing stupid stuff like stalking people on Facebook and buying enrichment for my betta. Yes, you can use enrichment for fish. I got Beta (that's his name, as in beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin)  anyways he now has a heater and different treats (e.g. blood worms, daphnias).

Last Weekend: Happy Birthday Josh and Jack!

The Week:
Details: I apologize for lacking on the photos, but this week was quite busy. I started a new job teaching first graders and I'm learning quite a bit! It feels so weird working with little kids because they are so similar to adults, but cuter and sometimes nicer. This week has been mostly a free week so that I can adapt and figure out all of their personalities. I also had three tests and two reports due so a typical day can be described as: wake up early, study, school, work, study, go to bed late. Today was the first day I was able to sleep in and I woke up at 6:30 AM FAIL! Hopefully I can sleep in tomorrow :)

Weekly Obsessions:
making lesson plans
watching Virunga on Netflix - YOU MUST WATCH IT!

Week: STUDYING
I attended a KNEA meeting where Dean Mercer (of Education) discussed the "A Walk in my Shoes" documentary.  It was inspiring and also cool to hear that Kstate invited Michelle Obama to speak at a Landon Lecture in the Spring. She has not responded yet.

Parentals Visit!

Last Weekend: Parents Visit the Little Apple!

Details:
- Insect Zoo and University Gardens
- Manhattan on the hill
My dad loved crawling through the children's jungle gym at the Discover Center and taking pictures of hideous spiders at the Insect Zoo. We also climbed all over the Manhattan sign on the hill. Our favorite meal was brunch at the Chef. More things to cross off my bucket list!

Week:
I spent the week volunteering at various events accumulating hours for my teaching program. I also became an officer for the KNEA organization. I'll be spending Monday nights taking pictures of events and spreading news about teaching. I also have NOT been studying which will kick my booty this weekend. I just can't focus when the weather is this gorgeous!
